Thanks for all your comments, really appreciate them. I know that returning to the Watchtower is not the answer but I sometimes get 'sad days', when I look at my life. Yes I do have anger issues and drink too much and I think that I,ve been blaming this on a lack of spirituality rather than the damage that the watchtower has inflicted on me. I think that I just needed someone to reinforce my reasons not to go back.

one of the thing that convinced me that the wt was not the true religion, was the materialism/showy dispolay of ones means of life, that was rife in my ex-congregation.
for example, many had private vehicle plates and huge houses, many kept on moving into bigger and bigger properties.
money for many of them seemed to be the main focus.

Someone once said that JWS are more focussed on material things because their hope is based on the same, namely, the big house in paradise etc. Just wondering what your experience was.

as we all have an immune system, we must have inherited this from previous generations.
therefore, adam and eve must have had an immune system if we were created.

As we all have an immune system, we must have inherited this from previous generations. Therefore, Adam and Eve must have had an immune system if we were created. If that is the case, why? They were created perfect and would not have had need for protection from infectious disease, as they were to live forever. So, does the fact that we have an immune system negate the possibility of creation?

she tripped on the roving microphone wire and smashed her head on the foot of a metal chair.
the bleeding was profuse and an ambulance was called.

I think that you are judging without knowing the whole situation.
My mother-in-law was remained a JW for several years after my wife and I left. Even though I had thought about suing before, we refrained out of any potential repurcussions in our relationship. My mother-in-law has been out for a year now.

Normally I would agree with your comments about the fact that 'accidents happen' and that people shouldnt be so keen to sue. However, for us it wasnt about money. It was about getting something back from all the years,energy expended, finances, lost career opportunities, psychological damage etc that was inflicted by this organization on my family. I guess That we felt that we could inflict some damage upon them for a change, instead of the other way around
